Dr. Hassane Makhlouf, Agricultural Engineer, Professor of Botany and Soil and Coordinator of the Master of Biodiversity at the Faculty of Science at the Lebanese University. Former Manager of the Alternative Cultivation Project, through which he introduced new crops to Lebanon as Saffron and Jojoba to replace the cultivation of Cannabis and white Poppy and has several books in this area. He is a researcher in the field of rural development, agriculture and environment and he is currently working on spreading the philosophy of regenerative agriculture in Lebanon by developing of LBM Technology (Lebanese Beneficial Microorganisms) that allows the remediation of contaminated soil for obtaining a healthy agricultural production which rehabilitate the agriculture sector in the country. He has also an extensive experience in the field of solid waste and wastewater management.
